Tracking Misalignment Inspection Points and Correction Methods for PTFE Conveyor Belts

  1. Inspection of Idler Set Transverse Centerline Alignment
Check the deviation between the transverse centerline of the idler sets and the longitudinal centerline of the PTFE conveyor frame. If the deviation exceeds 3 mm, adjust the idler sets using the elongated mounting slots on both sides.
  • Correction Technique: Move the idler set forward in the direction of belt travel on the side toward which the belt is drifting, or shift the opposite side backward.
  1. Inspection of Bearing Seat Elevation and Parallelism Deviations
Inspect the coplanar variance between the two bearing housing mounting surfaces on the head and tail frames. If the plane deviation exceeds 1 mm, re-align both surfaces into the same horizontal plane.
  • Head Pulley Adjustment: If the PTFE belt drifts toward the right side of the head pulley, move the right bearing housing forward (in the travel direction) or shift the left bearing housing backward. If the belt drifts to the left side, move the left bearing housing forward or shift the right bearing housing backward.
  • Tail Pulley Adjustment: The adjustment orientation for the tail pulley is the exact reverse of the head pulley setup.
  1. Inspection of Material Loading Centering
Examine the placement of materials across the cross-section of the PTFE high-temperature belt. Off-center material loading creates asymmetrical force distributions, inducing belt drift.
  • Material Offset Dynamics: If the material is deposited off-center to the right, the PTFE belt will drift toward the left side, and vice versa.
  • Correction Technique: Ensure materials are centered as precisely as possible during loading. To minimize or prevent loading-induced belt drift, install guide baffles or skirts to redirect the flow and trajectory of incoming materials.

This summary outlines the core symptoms, root causes, and troubleshooting procedures for PTFE conveyor belt slippage and tracking misalignment.
